Dear Readers

Jeff and I have some big news to share with you guys. Beyond Megapixels is changing hands. We will no longer be managing it from this point onwards. We will stay on as weekly contributing writers till the end of February though, and if schedule permits, we would love to stay on.

We’ve devoted a good portion of the past year to this blog and we love it more than we can put into words, but we find that we’re going to have less and less time to devote to BMP. We’ve poured our hearts out into this blog though, and hope that we’ve made a difference somehow.

Vernon is taking over now and we’re confident he will take good care of BMP and you guys. He’s a great guy, and I hope you will all join us in welcoming him to the blog. We will also be joined by other contributing writers.

It’s been such an incredible ride for me and Jeff. We’re so grateful for the experience, for all the brilliant photographers and bloggers around the world who’ve helped us along the way. We’ve made some amazing friends through this blog, and that alone was worth everything and more. We’re thankful to you, our readers, who’ve helped keep this site beginner-friendly.

When Jeff and I started this, we fully intended to foster a community that encourages beginners. There are a few photographers these days who seem to forget that we all started there. The word amateur is derived from the Latin word amare, meaning “to love.” We should be all be so lucky as to always have a photography amateur inside of us.

Again, thank you for helping the blog and us grow so much within such a short period of time. Jeff and I have learned so much from you. We realize change could be unsettling for some, but change could be the start of all great things too. We hope you’d stay on, and we can all continue to learn from each other.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! We’ll see you again this week.
