Photography in the News: Charging Friends for Services

Written by: cass

Many of our readers are professional photographers, some others are on the path to become professional photographers and then you have those of us that are just interested in being the best photographer we can be.  That’s what Beyond Megapixels is all about.   This weeks little nugget of news is a topic that I’m really interested in.  Charging friends for services.

If you’re on the path to becoming a professional photographer how do you get started?  I’ve heard over and over again that the best resource is a great portfolio, so perhaps doing the shoot for use in your portfolio is the answer? How do you quantify the value of your services if you’re just starting out? Or are referrals in exchange the answer? What do you think?
