Project Find me a Camera
Written by: Tiffany Joyce
In the past few weeks we’ve gotten some e-mails from people asking us to help them find the perfect camera. Finding a new camera can be fun but is often so overwhelming. So here’s a little about Lori’s needs.
Lori wants to find an easy to use Point & Shoot camera that will work easily with her Vista computer setup and her HP printer. She’s interested in spending about $150.00 and is shooting a large variety of different things. For Lori I’m going to focus on the following – Ease of Use, Plug and Play capability so there aren’t special softwares needed, a good sized display screen so it’s easy to see and review the shots and settings to change depending on the subject she’s shooting.
Here are my top three recommendations. They all are 8MP so the quality is good and you’ll be ale to print photos from your computer printer very easily and they all have the 3 inch LCD screen. Do you have another recommendation for Lori to consider?
Pentax Optio V10 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom for $118.09 I’ve read a lot of good things about this camera and with the features represented it looks to fit the bill quite nicely but you would need to purchase an SD card.
Nikon Coolpix L18 8MP Digital Camera (Navy) + 1GB Accessory Kit for $109.89 - this is a whole kit with a great price on the camera and the add ons including a table top tripod which is very cool.
Olympus FE-350 8MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Zoom (Black) for $99.00 - note that this camera uses an Olympus xD-Picture card and not the standard SD card. Amazon has a Frequently Bought Together feature that adds in the card and a case for $132.00.
