Putting together a display
Written by: Tiffany Joyce
I’m in the process of moving to an apartment. Apartment living is great and care free in so many ways but you have that generic wall color every where and it can feel a little like an institution so I’ve been working on some photography displays for our new apartment.
Last week my husband and I went to a great Bed & Breakfast in Connecticut (Rock Hall if you’re in the area and want to check it out) and they had the most incredible doors and handles. I love the symbolism of doors so I started shooting them.
Yesterday I went to my very favorite online photo processor Mpix.com (no they are not giving me anything for free but if they wanted to I would totally be interested). Ordered these photos and have plans to pick up inexpensive frames with big white gallery style mattes from Ikea or The Christmas Tree shop and then I’m going to hang them in the new apartment on a wall.
Do you group your photographs and actually hang them in your home? Do you also have a thing for doors? Show me your favorite doors on our Flickr Photo Pool.
