Monday Miscellany

Written by: Tiffany Joyce

Hello, friends! Welcome back, and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! (For our friends outside of the U.S., well, I hope you had a great weekend!) Today, on this lovely Monday morning, I thought I would share some links, news, and other interesting things going on in the realm of photography. So settle down with a nice hot cup of coffee and a biscuit, and let’s peruse the internet.

First, you have probably noticed the significant site redesign that we are currently enjoying here at Beyond Megapixels. It is our hope that this redesign is not only more visually appealing, but also easier to navigate. Please participate in the survey (over to the right) and let us know what you think! As always, leave feedback or concerns in the comments, or send us an e-mail.

Next, our sister site PhotoBlog.net is enjoying a redesign as well. Plus, new writer Sherry made her debut last week. She posted a couple of interesting and informative articles; Six Tips for Shooting Without a Tripod and Creating Bokeh Effects. Go check them out and say hi to Sherry!

Scott Kelby Training is offering some great Cyber Monday deals (TODAY ONLY!). $100 off admission to Photoshop World Orlando (Orlando Florida, March 24-26, 2010), 6 months free on new or renewed NAPP memberships, and 9 months free on new or renewed subscriptions to Layers Magazine. Make sure you take advantage of these great deals!

Speaking of Scott Kelby Training, I will be attending the December 7th session of Maximum Photoshop CS4 Tour in Phoenix, Arizona. I’m really looking forward to it and hope to have a lot of information to follow up on my October 29th article, Should You Upgrade to Photoshop CS4?

Finally, PhotoFocus has gifted us with a truly fantastic tutorial on Advanced Clone Tool Techniques. I highly recommend that you go check it out!

It is great, I love it, I can read all of it thanks.
  • I use Yahoo's feed-reader, and that's how I usually read your posts. But occasionally, I have to pop over to the actual site, to see something that can't be seen in the feed-reader. When that happens, I abandon my feed-reader altogether, and just want to "scroll" through to the next post without having to bounce between windows.

Anyway, that's one of the things that I've found lacking on this site. The option to click through to the "next" or "previous" post. Especially since I only get here once or twice a month.
  • Jimmie - I'm glad!

Shelli - Thanks for the feedback, I have passed it along to my editor.
