Product Review: Photo Art from Fracture
Written by: Tiffany Joyce
The folks at Fracture have developed a great new way to display your photographs.
A Fracture is a photograph and frame all in one. The picture is printed on the backside of a piece of glass, which is adhered to sturdy, thick black matting. Since the photo is part of the glass, it is scratch-proof and will never fade – and it’s shatter-proof, with no sharp edges. Holes are pre-cut in the back for portrait or landscape mounting, and customers are provided with both a mounting screw and a special mounting tack to hang the photo according to their preferences.
Customers can order a customized Fracture by uploading a photo on their website. Aspect choices include square, portrait, or landscape. The photo can be cropped or resized within the tool. Available borders include patterns and solid colors, or you can choose to go borderless. Available sizes include 8″ up to 18″ (in diagonal), and current prices range from $8 to $35 dollars.
When I received my Fracture, the only temporary bother I had was trying to figure out how to get it out of the very secure packaging that it arrived in. The image itself is of excellent quality and the construction is very clever and durable. I opted to use the mounting tack provided, which was as simple as pushing a pin into a cork board. Altogether, I am very pleased with the product and will not hesitate to purchase from them in the future. The fact that they are so very economical encourages me to peruse my photo collection for more items to hang on my walls!
